Beefeater’s brand name was coined from one of the most elite groups of soldiers to have walked the streets of London, the Yeoman Warders or “Beefeaters.” as they were commonly called. The Beefeaters were historically known as the guardian of the Royal Family and Crown Jewels of England. The Beefeaters take its inspiration from the Beefeater’s history, as founder James Burrough developed his first orange gin over 150 years ago. Beefeater’s first orange flavoured gin was created in 1876. James Burrough hand-selected oranges from London’s Covent Garden Market for the perfect citrus flavour, inspiring Beefeater’s new blood orange gin today. Beefeater Blood Orange starts with the same process as Beefeater London Dry Gin, The World’s Most Awarded Gin. The trick of the perfect dry gin lies in stillman’s refined sense of smell and attention to the readings of the hydrometer analysing the still. They use this to select a perfect middle cut of a great-tasting gin. The spirit has a bright, appealing orange colour. At the same time, the juniper and angelica present adds a classic gin flavour to the overall taste, enhancing the zest of juicy blood orange. From the moment a bottle of Beefeater Blood Orange is opened, the drinker encounters fresh citrus and tangy blood orange aroma with a hint of juniper. A long, rich finish ensures that the drink is fully enjoyed from beginning to end. It’s been made with cocktails and spritzes in mind, so trying it in one certainly wouldn’t go amiss. A wonderful blood orange gin from Beefeater with a taste that’s just as vibrant as it looks!
