One Tequila, Two Tequila, Three Tequila… FOOD!

When we think of Tequila, we don’t generally think of pairing it with food.

We think of it as a shot, a cocktail, and a get-the-party-started drink.

Well, let us share with you a few dishes that you can make at home that pair really well with Tequila.

There are 3 types of Tequila’s in the Patron Range that you can pair well with a variety of foods; these are all available online

1. Blanco / Silver / Plata

We recommend Patron Tequila Silver

You could definitely order a Blanco or Silver with a salad course, such as guacamole, tomato salsa or roasted asparagus. The acidity in these veggies pairs well with the subtle taste of the Blanco/Silver.

You could also try a light seafood, like prawns, marinated in Tequila and lime, then grilled with butter and sprinkled with coriander and salt.

2. Reposado

We recommend Patron Tequila Reposado

An easy pairing could include anything with orange, cinnamon and honey.

Try pan frying a chicken thigh with a reduction of orange juice, tequila and honey then top it off with a sprinkling of cinnamon to finish it off.

3. Añejo

We recommend Patron Tequila Añejo

This tequila is best served with red meat dishes and rich desserts, due to its deep, rich flavour profile from being aged in oak barrels for up to a year.

Try sliced fillet of beef roasted with garlic, honey-roasted carrots and a subtle mustard mash.

You could also try a death-by chocolate-cake topped with chocolate ganache and sprinkled with raspberries.

Apart from all the delicious parings that are mentioned above, you could also serve a simple cheese board consisting of brie, feta, blue cheese and goats cheese that will pair well with the various tequilas to emphasise their flavours.

These are only a few pairings that you can try, but feel free to tempt your taste buds and try some more extravagant variations at home.

One Tequila, Two Tequila, Three Tequila… FUN!
