Robertson Wine Farm
History of Robertson Winery
A stone church was built for the congregation services by missionaries in honour of Scottish minister, Dr William Robertson in 1852, and when Robertson Winery was established in 1941 the small church was converted into a winery for the winemaking and cellar operations; these are the humble beginnings of Robertson Wineries.
Robertson Winery consists of many long-standing, devoted and enthusiastic grape-growing families. Some of these families have a history of seven generations of wine growers and presently there are at least 35 families involved in the cultivation and production of the 2400 hectares of vine. All the families take great pride in participating and take great pride in contributing to the achievement and accomplishment of the close partnership, resulting in excellent wines.
