Rhebokskloof Wine Farm
Rhebokskloof Wine Estate forms part of the Paarl wine route and is cuddled between two valleys at the base of the regal Paarl Mountain a mere 45 minutes from Cape Town. The pristine loveliness of the region is enhanced by the ideal positioning of the wonderful heritage buildings steeped in history. With its undulating lawns, serene lakes, willow trees and vineyards, Rhebokskloof is described as a paradise and is certainly one of the most stunning farms in the area.
Petrus van der Merwe built his home on the farm, Rhebokskloof, in the year 1797; almost 100 years after the first settlers began to inhabit the area in and around Paarl. Since then the homestead has been renovated and restored to its former glory. His initials as well as those of his wife still grace the gable that is a distinctive feature, even to this day.
Rhebokskloof was divided into six individual farms, during the two world wars, and in 1986, the farms were bought back by new owners and returned to the original size.
Then in 2006 the farm was sold once more to business people and today the farm is a proud testimony and is as beautiful as it once was.
