Leopards Leap Wines Farm
Leopard?s Leap is based in the picturesque town of Franschhoek and crafts its wines from the finest grapes. It exports its wines to more than 20 countries around the world. Leopard?s Leap is part of the RK wine portfolio and is owned by Hanneli Rupert-Koegelenberg and Hein Koegelenberg.
Hein Koegelenberg was born in Laingsburg in the Karoo region in 1960 and he was always destined for the wine industry when his family bought a wine farm six years later in Vredendal. After agricultural school he went on to complete an honours degree in viticulture cellar technology. He was recognised for his extensive knowledge of the industry and management skills and was appointed as director of La Motte.
In 2000 he came up with an idea to use the excess grapes from the three family estates to create a new label and Leopard?s Leap Wines were born. Leopard?s Leap is committed to the conservation beliefs of Dr. Anton Rupert and is a proud sponsor of The Cape Leopard Trust whose goal is to protect the magnificent Cape Mountain Leopard.
