Kaapzicht Wine Estate
The first vintage at Kaapzicht Estate was bottled in 1984, and has become one of the fine wines which are synonymous with good quality and equally good pricing, whilst earning accolades and awards internationally.
2006 celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Steytler family as owners of this fine estate. Danie Steytler is the 3rd generation and who has no fewer than 30 vintages of winemaking under his cap. After completing a National Diploma in Agriculture in Pretoria, Danie returned to Stellenbosch to further his studies in Botany and Agriculture.
Kaapzicht Estate is a 174 hectare estate and is run in a very hands-on manner by brothers Danie and George, with George Steytler being the winemaker and viticulturist. Both wives actively take charge of the marketing aspects of running this successful establishment.
Activities at Kaapzicht Estate:
There is a wonderful wedding and function venue available at Kaapzicht where the Steytler family will welcome you with their warm hospitality. The venue can seat up to 280 people, which includes dancing. There is also a beautiful garden area which is available for ceremonies.
If you need to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, you will be able to hire the self-catering cottage which is also available.
Partaking in the free cellar tour and wine tasting is one of the more enjoyable experiences offered on this exquisite estate.
