Holden Manz Wine Estate
History of Holden Manz
The Franschhoek Valley is one of the main destinations in the world for fine wine, with farms dotted around the beautiful and quaint village of Franschhoek. There are no fewer than forty stately farms that form part of some of the top fine wines produced not only in SA, but right across the globe.
Holden Manz wine farm will leave you breathless when you set your eyes on this astounding setting which is situated between the Franschhoek and Stoney Brook Rivers, with the awe-inspiring mountains overshadowing the farm in the valley below.
The family estate is set on 22ha, which is perfect to nurture and grow fine vines, with the focus being on minimizing use of chemicals in order to conserve the environment.
Although the manor house was only built ten years ago, it has been designed and built in accordance with Cape Dutch architecture and blends in perfectly with its surroundings. This is a five star establishment with seven suites and is situated far yet near enough from the hustle and bustle of the activities taking place on the farm.
Activities
Something The Cape is famous for is its markets, and Holden Manz is certainly no exception. There is a farmers market that is held on the farm every Saturday, where picnics and braais are enjoyed on the river banks, and enjoyed by all.
