Douglas Green Wine Farm
History of Douglas Green Wines
In 1942, Douglas Green of Paarl, a brilliant entrepreneur bought a company and developed this into a booming business, whilst increasing his range of wines.
Douglas Green was certain that the superiority and spirit of the diverse vineyards of the Western Cape should not be limited, but rather collectively would express the best of each district. This ground-breaking take on conventional winemaking gave Douglas Green the upper hand.
The name “Douglas Green” is synonymous with wine in South Africa. The wine captures the true essence of the Cape. For more than 65 years wine lovers from across the globe have come to love the distinct excellence of Douglas Green’s Vineyard creation single varietals and Douglas Green’s signature fruit forward Diversity Blends, and also the sparkling wines that Douglas Green has become so famous for.
