Tasting Notes:
This exceptional whiskey is matured for 16 years or more in a combination of American bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry butts. The bourbon barrels infuse delicate honey, mild toasted wood and vanilla notes, while the sherry wood lends the malt a rich, fruity sweetness and a distinct nutty character. It has a subtle finishing touch of sweet wine, and allows all flavour elements to gently mellow together, giving Bushmills Malt 16 Year Old its depth, balance and complexity.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Heavy smoke and peat. Amazing richness. Lemon, fresh ginger, plum jam. Salty and spicy.
Body: Like a cannonball - hits the palate at once with cocoa, peat and some honey sweetness then explodes with peppery spice and more earthy peat. Spreads to all the areas of your mouth with more peat and light sweetness.
Finish: Even more peat, spice, mandarin - then dries up. When you think its all over the peat comes back to hit you again.

Nose: Some sherry, Christmas pudding. Plenty of fruit - raisins, ripe apples and tinned oranges in syrup. Taste: Malty, treacle, slightly nutty. Orange peel, apple compot. Rich oak. Finish: Long and rich, with spicy oak

NOSE - Rich and full, developing into the succulent sweetness of exotic fruits like nectarines, apricot and papaya.
TASTE - A burst of flavours combine to produce a creamy, luscious taste experience. The special fruity sweetness from the grain remains consistent, while the waves of vanilla, toasted wood and spices roll through from the pot still whiskey and flame charred barrels.
FINISH - An incredibly long finish with fruit and wood spices lingering in perfect proportion, delivering an extremely rich and luxurious taste experience.

Tasting Notes
An instant warming tang of smoke that fades into smooth floral scents and blends seamlessly into an oaky nuttiness and leaves a lasting sweetness on the taste. With a touch of water the peaty warmth fills the mouth but does not overshadow the sweet chocolate smoothness. This is balanced by the rich toffee taste and slowly fades into a delicate hint of heather and peat smoke. Full bodied, long with a luxurious oily smoothness.

The taste starts sweeter than the others, with a pleasant, light-flavoured smokiness leading to a sweet-smoky, lingering finish.A complex balance of primary tastes.
